About |
Michael Walsh is a Senior Fellow at the Foreign Policy Research Institute. He conducts research on the strategic, operational, and tactical gaps that exist in American foreign policy. Mr. Walsh is best known for his policy relevant contributions on the alignment of governance, foreign aid, and military posture with regional realities, particularly in the Pacific Islands. His scholarship tends to bridge the theoretical and applied policy realms, akin to Richard Haass’s pragmatic diplomacy, Graham Allison’s decision-making frameworks, and Susan Strange's structural dynamics. Mr. Walsh formerly served as the Chair of the Asia-Pacific Security Affairs Subcommittee of the Biden Defense Working Group. In that role, he served as the lead author on the Pacific Partnership White Paper. |
