Frank André Weigelt, Dr. phil. (University Lucerne, Switzerland, 2012), M.A. (Georg-August University, Göttingen, Germany, 2006) is lecturer and senior researcher at the department of Cultural and Social Anthropology at the University of Hamburg, Germany. After his work as a research assistant and lecturer at the University of Göttingen he wrote his doctoral thesis about the diaspora of Vietnamese immigrants of Buddhist faith in Switzerland at the University of Lucerne from 2007 until 2011. His current research interests include the concepts of migration, diaspora and transnationalism, study of religions, anthropology of buddhism, cultural property and cultural heritage, migrants organisations, civic engagement, Funeral and burial practices, ethnographic methods. His regional focus is Southeast Asia, South China and Melanesia. |
