As an anthropologist, public health specialist, and bioethicist, I have conducted research for over 25 years on health issues on Easter Island (Rapa Nui).
My areas of work relate to indigenous medical systems, public health policies, intercultural health, medicalization, colonialism, and health hegemony. I have also conducted research on intangible heritage on Rapa Nui. Much of the research developed has been conducted for international or national public organizations, or for universities. Most of it is applied research.
My output includes articles, books, compilations, and documentaries.
I am beginning a line of comparative research on health coloniality and medicalization in the Pacific. |
