About
Jan van der Ploeg is an environmental anthropologist with an interest in community-based fisheries management. Over the past 15 years he worked in Philippines, Indonesia and Solomon Islands on the intersection of science, policy and conservation. He obtained his PhD from Leiden University in the Netherlands in 2013. From 2015 to 2018, Jan lead the WorldFish action research project on ‘strengthening community-based resource management to safeguard food security In Malaita Province’.
