About
Andreea R. Torre is a lecturer in the Development Studies Programme at the University of the South Pacific (Suva, Fiji) where she teaches and coordinates courses in research methods and gender and development. She is an ethnographer with an interdisciplinary background in social anthropology, sociology and migration studies. Her primary research expertise lies in the field of transnational family migration and mobility, and its intersections with the labour market, gender and development issues. Andreea has conducted comparative fieldwork in European and non-European countries, such as Italy, UK, Romania, Ukraine and Ecuador, and is currently involved in research in the South Pacific region.
