About
Since 2008, I have conducted fieldwork among the sea-dwelling Lau people in north Malaita, Solomon Islands. My research interest have included kinship, history, landscape, material culture and fisheries among others. Currently, I am focusing on the human-environment relationship (e.g. the perception of sea-level rise) among the Lau in the age of global climate change.

I am an anthropologist with a strong theoretical inclination, and I have keenly been interested the reconceptualization of "nature" and "culture" in contemporary anthropological theory. I am also one of the first translators of Strathern and Viveriros de Castro into Japanese.
