About
Rodolfo Maggio is an anthropologist of the Asia-Pacific region currently working at the University of Helsinki in the ERC Project “Properties of Units and Standards” (2023-2028). In the past, he taught anthropology at the University of Turin (2020-23) and has worked as a JSPS Special Foreign Researcher at Waseda University (2019-20), Tokyo, and as a Wellcome Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Oxford (2015-18). He serves as one of the Associate Editor of the Islands Studies Journal and is the author of journal articles and book chapters on moral economy, religion, and the anthropology of the Asia-Pacific region. He conducted ethnographic research on Sino-Pacific relations in Solomon Islands, based on the analysis of artefacts, newspapers, interviews, performances, and data collected with participant observation in Marovo Lagoon, Malaita, and Honiara.
