2015 is European Year of Development, a transitional year in setting the post-2015 development agenda, and also marks 40 years of cooperation between the EU and the Africa, Caribbean and Pacific group. A recent series of reviews have reflected upon the Cotonou Agreement, and looked ahead to what might follow on post-2020. Equally, the recent review of the Pacific Plan and transition to the Framework for Pacific Regionalism raised debate over regional architecture of governance, and over the character of future partnerships in the Pacific. This roundtable aims to facilitate discussion about the principles and new regional initiatives emerging from recent reviews, the challenges to current paradigms of development cooperation, and the concerns and priorities of the Pacific region. The roundtable accompanies ongoing consultations towards renewing the EU-ACP partnership post-2020, and aims to contribute to the agenda for future EU - Pacific connections.
