About

I am an explorer at heart, drawn irresistibly to the wonders of the great outdoors. Every new trail, every fresh adventure calls to me, sparking a curiosity that never fades. Soon, I will step into a dream long held — the breathtaking landscapes of Switzerland await me, and my excitement knows no bounds!

Alongside my travels, I am diving deep into my passion for my PhD, embracing the journey with calm determination. I believe in working with peace of mind, not with a piece of my mind — choosing balance and clarity over stress and chaos. This path is mine to carve, blending adventure and ambition into a life truly lived.

Experiences
  • Masters Research (2014 to 2016)
    — University of the South Pacific
Spatial economics in Fiji during the time of my research was vaguely informing research agenda. The agriculture sector is the backbone of the country, however there is little productivity of the sector due to the tenure limitations. This study was interested in visualizing spatially how agricultural production can be optimized through capability and suitability studies.
  • Academic Position (2015 to present)
    — University of the South Pacific
I started as a teaching assistant, then moving my way to Assistant Lecturer with the Department of Land Management and Development after an unanimous selection. I have focused on research and field work for majority of my course learning outcomes. Courses I teach as offered in blended and face to face mode across the Pacific region. I have hands on experience with Moodle, Perusal, Zoom, Prezi, Big Blue Button, Google documents, and PowToon to facilitate my teaching.
As part of my role, I have volunteered to participate in my capacity as a committee member of research office, first aid and Occupational Health and Safety. Organized and facilitated university open days, orientation weeks and school visits for promotion of the program
  • Consulting Work (2023 to 2023)
    — UNESCAP
As a VLR Data Specialist, I was responsible for data identification, collection, and validation that supported the analysis of Suva City VLR. I was also responsible for supporting the Suva City VLR task team to liaise and collect data from respective institutions and support the task team in identifying other stakeholders with data. With the opportunity to coordinate the systematization of data received from the Suva City government and other entities, including informal data collection from other stakeholders which will need to be validated together with Suva City VLR task team.
